I want to speak with you about a cause that is important to me. I am honored and humbled to have accepted a request to join the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) 2022 Man & Woman of the Year campaign. I am writing today to ask for your support of my efforts to help LLS ensure access to cures and treatments for blood cancer patients.
LLS’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Its research has also helped advance treatments of many types of cancers and autoimmune disorders.
I am competing with several other Long Island Man & Woman of the Year candidates. Together we will each put our best fundraising foot forward in honor of two courageous children, Aiden S. and Reese P., our Boy and Girl of the Year.
While childhood leukemia has the highest cure rate of any blood cancer, it is also the number one disease killer among children under the age of 20. This needs to change, and I know that as we come together and partner with LLS that we will find a cure, not someday, but today!
Every dollar I raise is a vote to cure cancer. My team and I have a goal to raise $40,000 by May 11 and we could use your help to get there!
I humbly ask you to join us by choosing to make a tax-deductible donation to LLS.
So many of us have blessed lives and wish for that to continue. I view this as an opportunity to give back to those who could use it the most.
I hope you will join us in the fight for a cure by donating.

One of the brave kids the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is fighting for is Reese P. of Dix Hills. Reese was only five when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last year.
Since then, she has stayed strong and mature beyond her years while going through chemotherapy, blood transfusions, bone marrow aspirations and more.
Reese is happy to receive much of this treatment from home. Unfortunately, her cancer has persisted, so her fight continues.
Aidan S., of Rockville Center, was three when he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. With his twin brother Mason, by his side, Aiden persevered through three years of chemotherapy. The pandemic prevented his family from having a traditional celebration, but Aiden’s community came together to stage the party he deserved.
A 30-car parade took place on his street to salute his bravery and determination. There was a fire engine and the NYPD Pipes and Drums of the Emerald Society!
Congratulations, Aidan. You inspire us all!

By the time you read this. heating oil prices may have fallen.
Right now, though, we’ve been fielding some calls from customers upset with higher oil prices.
There is a misconception that we make more money when prices rise like this. We don’t. In fact, we make less. It’s like when the cost of coffee or milk rises. It’s not the local grocery store that is profiting. (That’s left to the Wall Street investors).
Higher costs have a negative impact on all of us.
