Q: How much longer can I expect my 12-year-old central a/c system to last?

A: A few years at best. If you’ve been spending $150 here and $300 there to keep your old cooling system running, consider replacing it soon. The performance and reliability of central air equipment typically deteriorates after 15 years (sooner if maintenance has been neglected).

Q: What are my options?

A: We custom design central air conditioning systems for both old and new homes. We’re experts in installing conventional sheet-metal ducting as well as flexible duct tubing for hard-to-reach areas in architecturally challenging homes.

Q: I have a boiler and no ductwork; can I still get central a/c?

A: If you prefer not to install the ductwork or this is not an option, that’s not a problem. We install Fujitsu ductless mini-split air conditioners. Most people install mini-split systems for air conditioning because they have no ducts. But they get an extra bonus because the system can provide supplemental heat to reduce oil consumption during the mild parts of the heating season.
